Al-Ahli is close to signing Abu Al-Shamat
The Saudi Al-Ahli Club is just steps away from signing left winger Saleh Abu Al-Shamat, a player from Al-Khaleej Club, as part of its plan to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
According to the newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat", the deal has reached its final stages and is only awaiting the approval of Al-Qadisiyah Club, which owns 40% of the player's transfer value under a previous agreement.
Al-Ahli's management has already obtained Al-Khaleej's approval to start negotiations, and an agreement has been reached with Abu Al-Shamat on all personal terms of the new contract.
During the discussions, a swap idea was proposed, but Al-Khaleej's management preferred to receive a direct financial compensation, which has been officially adopted in the agreement.
It is worth noting that Abu Al-Shamat participated in 31 matches during the last season in the league and the King’s Cup, scoring one goal and providing six assists.
