Cypriot club AEK announced yesterday, Saturday, its official contract with Iraqi national team star Youssef Al-Amin, in a free transfer deal after his contract with Al-Wahda Saudi Club ended, allowing the player to start a new experience in European fields after a series of distinguished professional stops.

The Cypriot club mentioned, via its official account on the "X" platform, that Al-Amin will arrive in the capital Nicosia within the coming hours to undergo medical examinations, in preparation for signing a contract that extends until the summer of 2027, thus becoming one of the most prominent signings for the team this summer.

Youssef Al-Amin is 21 years old and has a distinguished career despite his young age, as he has moved between several European clubs from an early age, most notably Borussia Dortmund in Germany for the under-17 category, then Viktoria Köln, before settling at the Dutch club Feyenoord, and then moving to Eintracht Braunschweig in the German second division, before having a professional experience in the Saudi league with Al-Wahda, where he delivered remarkable performances.

During his last season with Al-Wahda, Al-Amin participated in 31 matches across various competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists, and was an important element in the attacking midfield, which caught the attention of many clubs before AEK secured the deal in its favor.

Internationally, Youssef Al-Amin is considered one of the most prominent talents in the Iraqi national team, having played 17 international matches with the "Lions of Mesopotamia," scoring 2 goals, and was one of the key players who participated in the Paris 2024 Olympics, after representing the youth team in previous stages, solidifying his name as one of the standout players of the new generation of Iraqi football.

Commenting on the deal, AEK fans expressed their excitement for the arrival of the Iraqi star on social media, while Iraqi observers considered it a positive step for the player to return to the European football scene and further develop his level.

For his part, Al-Amin is expected to be among the team's main options during the upcoming season, given the confidence shown by the club's technical management in his abilities, and the club's ambition to compete in the Cypriot league and participate in continental tournaments.
