A report from 'CaughtOffside' stated that Manchester United has entered a race with Manchester City to sign Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, the goalkeeper of Paris Saint-Germain, during the current summer transfer window.

This comes as the French club is moving to secure a replacement for the Italian goalkeeper, having reached an agreement on personal terms with French goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier.

Manchester United is looking for a replacement for Andre Onana, who has not delivered the expected performance, and Donnarumma is considered an ideal option, as the 26-year-old goalkeeper had a fantastic season with Paris, contributing to winning the French league and the Champions League.

On the other hand, Manchester City is closely monitoring Donnarumma's situation in anticipation of the departure of Brazilian Ederson, and both clubs have the financial capability to complete the deal, although City has the advantage of participating in the Champions League and competing for titles, which attracts the Italian goalkeeper who seeks to continue his career at the highest levels.
