Newcastle Withdraws from the Race to Sign Wissa
Sunday 27-07-2025
Newcastle United has decided to halt its negotiations to sign striker Yoane Wissa from Brentford during the ongoing summer transfer window, after the London club rejected Newcastle's offer.

According to what was confirmed by Sky Sports, Newcastle's management has decided to look away from the deal and shift towards alternative targets to strengthen the front line, despite head coach Eddie Howe's desire to sign the Congolese player.

The network clarified that Brentford sent a clear message indicating its unwillingness to sell Wissa this summer, which caused significant frustration for the player and his representatives, especially since he prefers to move to Newcastle only, fearing he might miss the chance to play in the Champions League.

Media reports have indicated that Saudi club Neom has entered negotiations with Wissa, as it seeks to snatch the deal, amid optimism within the club about the possibility of reaching an agreement with both the player and Brentford.
