Al-Zawraa Club continues its movements in the summer transfer market in search of strengthening its squad in preparation for the new football season, as it is on the verge of signing the experienced Tunisian striker Haitham Al-Jouini, in a deal that is expected to significantly enhance the team's offensive capabilities.

A source from within the club stated in a special interview with the /Al-Maalooma/ agency that the management of Al-Zawraa has completed its agreement with the 31-year-old Tunisian player, and he is expected to arrive in the capital Baghdad at the beginning of August, coinciding with the start of the official preparations for the team under the leadership of coach Abdul Ghani Shahed.

The source clarified that the contract with Al-Jouini came based on a direct recommendation from the technical staff, due to the player's unique capabilities, especially in aerial balls inside the penalty area, as Al-Jouini is known for his precision in positioning and high physical play, which are qualities that the team urgently needed to enhance in the front line.

Al-Jouini has a rich football career, starting with the Tunisian club Esperance Sportive where he excelled and won the African Champions League, and he has also had multiple professional experiences in the Arab world, representing clubs such as Al-Mokawloon Al-Arab in Egypt, the Tunisian Stadium, Diba Al-Hisn in the UAE, and Al-Ain in Saudi Arabia, in addition to his recent experience with Al-Ahli Club in Libya.

Al-Jouini's joining of the "Nawaris" comes as part of a comprehensive plan adopted by the management to bring the team back into the competition for local titles, amid ongoing efforts to match the Police team, the champion of last season, in terms of the quality of players and the level of technical performance.

On another note, the source confirmed that Al-Zawraa has not finished its movements in the summer transfer market, as the management seeks to finalize additional deals to strengthen some positions, particularly in defense and midfield, with the aim of delivering an exceptional season that satisfies the ambitions of the club's fans.

It is worth noting that the summer transfer market in Iraq continues until September 20, which gives the "Nawaris" a time frame to complete the technical arrangements and remaining deals, amidst increasing fan support and great confidence in coach Abdul Ghani Shahed and his new project with the team.
