Aston Villa Clarifies Position on Selling Watkins
Thursday 24-07-2025
The British newspaper "Telegraph" confirmed that Aston Villa has clearly informed Manchester United that their striker Ollie Watkins is not available for sale during the current summer transfer window, emphasizing their full commitment to keeping the player as he is one of the key elements in the team's lineup.

Manchester United had inquired about the possibility of acquiring Watkins as part of their efforts to strengthen their attacking line, but Aston Villa's response was decisive, stating that there is no intention to part ways with the player.

In this context, Manchester United decided to dismiss the idea of signing Newcastle's striker Alexander Isak, along with ruling out other expensive attacking options such as Cissoko and Nicolas Jackson.

This approach comes after Manchester United completed two major signings this summer, acquiring the duo Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha for a total of £130 million.
