The Italian club Atalanta is awaiting a new offer from Inter Milan to sign Nigerian striker Ademola Lookman during the current summer transfer window, according to the website "Football Italia".

Inter had made an initial offer to acquire Lookman on loan with an option to buy, offering an annual salary of 4 million euros, but Atalanta rejected the offer due to a disagreement over the financial compensation.

According to reports, Inter has shown a willingness to pay up to 40 million euros to acquire the player, while Atalanta insists on receiving an amount close to 50 million euros, and it is expected that the Nerazzurri will make an improved offer, with a value higher by 2 to 3 million euros than their previous offer.

Inter's move comes as it seeks to make room for a new striker in preparation for the departure of Mehdi Taremi, who is attracting interest from Fulham and Besiktas.

Lookman is a key target for Inter this summer to strengthen the attacking line, while Atalanta enjoys a strong negotiating position after selling Matteo Retegui to Al-Qadisiyah for 65 million euros.

It is worth noting that Lookman joined Atalanta in 2022 and has succeeded in scoring 52 goals in 118 matches across various competitions.
