Liverpool Refuses to Sell Konaté and Insists on Contract Renewal
Thursday 24-07-2025
Liverpool has refused to sell Ibrahima Konaté to Real Madrid this summer.

The management of Liverpool FC is unwilling to part with the services of French defender Ibrahima Konaté during the current summer transfer window, amidst strong interest from Real Madrid in acquiring his signature, according to the website "Foot Mercato".

Konaté, who is 26 years old, is one of the prominent names linked with a move to Real Madrid, especially since his contract with Liverpool expires in the summer of 2026, giving the royal team a chance to sign him for free at the end of next season, similar to the Alexander Arnold deal.

Real Madrid wants to sign Konaté this summer and is preparing to make an offer ranging between 20 and 25 million euros, however, Liverpool has confirmed its insistence on keeping the player and its unwillingness to let him go, also presenting him with an official offer to renew his contract.

Liverpool's management sees Konaté's stay as a priority and refuses to repeat the scenario of Arnold's free departure to Real Madrid, and so far, Konaté has not announced his position regarding the renewal offer, while Real Madrid hopes that the player continues to reject those offers in order to finalize the deal in the future.
