Media figure Ahmed Shobir criticized Al-Ahly fans following the attack on Mohamed El-Shenawy, the goalkeeper of the red team.

Shobir stated in television remarks via "Al-Ahly" channel: "Unfortunately, there are campaigns from some against players in Al-Ahly, and you find mockery and ridicule. People need to understand that no one is infallible, and I will specifically talk about El-Shenawy. I must support my player and remember the good times with him."

He continued: "El-Shenawy has a significant legacy that makes him deserving of support and backing, and you should remember that he is the captain of Al-Ahly. You are the one who should confront those who belittle your players, not you initiating this. Whether it’s El-Shenawy, Shobir, or any of them, they play according to the technical staff's vision."

He added: "But my role is to support my captain and my player and help Mustafa Shobir, but I prefer not to exaggerate and glorify him. Let’s take it easy so things don’t go wrong. Let’s assume that Ribeiro saw Shobir as a starter and played, and when he makes a mistake, will you treat him like this?"

He concluded: "Of course, he will make mistakes; who doesn’t? And goals will be conceded because of him. Will he still be treated this way then? So, no matter who plays, I must support and back them, and in the end, that technical decision is up to the coach.
