Chelsea continues its strong movements in the summer transfer market, following its recent victory in the FIFA Club World Cup, in preparation for the new season under coach Enzo Maresca and the return to the UEFA Champions League.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Chelsea is close to finalizing the deal for Dutch star Xavi Simons, a player from RB Leipzig, noting that negotiations between the two parties have reached an advanced stage regarding personal terms, with a clear desire from the player to join the Blues.

Romano explained that Chelsea's management is looking to expedite negotiations with Leipzig to reach a final agreement on the value of the deal, especially with the German club's insistence on the player's contract, which runs until the summer of 2027, knowing that his current market value is estimated at €70 million.

Chelsea's interest in signing Simons aligns with its policy of acquiring young players with international experience, as the 22-year-old Dutchman is known for his tactical flexibility and ability to play in several attacking positions, along with his extensive experience with the Dutch national team.
