The Portuguese club Benfica is close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea for the transfer of their former player Joao Felix, in a deal worth 25 million euros. The Portuguese newspaper "Record" revealed that negotiations between the two clubs have made significant progress in the past few hours.

The newspaper indicated that the deal could be finalized officially before next Friday, allowing the possibility of Felix being with the team for the scheduled match on Saturday against Turkish side Fenerbahce, coached by Jose Mourinho.

Joao Felix's strong desire to return to Benfica played a crucial role in the success of the deal, as the player expressed his wish to return to his former club, which helped expedite the agreement between the two clubs.

Felix had spent the second half of last season on loan at Italian club AC Milan, before returning to Chelsea after the end of his loan.
