In a surprising turn of events, Al-Ahli club has officially granted its approval to participate in the Saudi Super Cup scheduled to take place in Hong Kong from August 19 to 23, according to informed sources for the newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat".

The decision by Al-Ahli came to fill the void left by Al-Hilal club, which announced its withdrawal from the tournament due to physical reasons related to preparations and lack of readiness to compete internationally at this time.

The Saudi Football Federation had revealed that it received an official letter from Al-Hilal's management confirming the team's withdrawal from the tournament, which necessitated immediate action from the organizing bodies to find a suitable replacement to ensure the continuity of the tournament.

According to the federation's statement, the official procedures related to the tournament will be completed by the relevant committees, in accordance with the regulations and organizational rules pertaining to the Super Cup, ensuring fairness among the qualified clubs and protecting the interests of all parties.
