Real Madrid Sets €100 Million to Replace Kroos
Tuesday 22-07-2025
The name of Rodri, the Manchester City midfielder, has resurfaced as a potential option for Real Madrid to strengthen the team this summer, amid the royal club's efforts to compensate for the departure of Toni Kroos, whose absence significantly affected the team's performance last season.

Rodri, who is 29 years old, is under contract with Manchester City until 2027, while the English club is seeking to extend his contract until 2030. Despite Pep Guardiola's insistence on keeping him and the club's intention not to sell, the fact that he has not renewed his contract yet gives Real Madrid a glimmer of hope for his acquisition.

Some reports have indicated that Rodri is the only player that fits the royal club, but the deal is currently impossible as City is not selling him, and an assessment of his level after the injury must be awaited.

The reports added that Real Madrid is considering the deal and does not rule out moving this summer or next summer, but for now, they will not sign a central midfielder unless Rodri becomes available for €100 million and City agrees to sell.
