Wissam Abu Ali Apologizes to Al Ahly and Its Fans
The Palestinian Wissam Abu Ali, star of Al Ahly, apologized to the club and its fans for his recent behavior and absence from team training.
Abu Ali said in a video clip published on Al Ahly's accounts: "I apologize to Al Ahly's fans, Captain Al-Khatib, the management, and the players, and anyone who has a place in my heart, for the actions I took and the things that happened from me. I acted in a way that I do not approve of, and I do not want any player to repeat what happened."
He added: "Al Ahly is a great and magnificent club, and it is the one that raised me up, and the fans are the ones who made me and brought me to this stage. The club is the reason for my professionalism, and the year and a half I spent there were the best days of my life."
He pointed out that he bought a house in Egypt because it has become like "his second country" and added: "Al Ahly is the one that made me a star for the Palestinian national team, made the entire Palestinian people happy, and allowed me to represent my country in the way I dreamed of."
Abu Ali clarified: "I just ask people to forgive me. I was under a lot of pressure, and the situation escalated and got out of my hands, and I didn’t know how to act."
He concluded his remarks: "Any statements that came from anyone and spoke against Al Ahly, I am not with those people. Egypt is the land of security, and the best periods of my life were there."
