Local media sources have revealed that Al-Ahli Club has officially refused to participate in the Saudi Super Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Hong Kong from August 19 to 23, 2025.

The Saudi Federation had extended an official invitation to Al-Ahli to participate in the tournament, instead of Al-Hilal, which decided not to compete in order to give players more rest, especially after participating in the Club World Cup.

According to the Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah," the coach Yaisleh was consulted, and he declined to participate in the tournament for several reasons, the most prominent being the team's lack of readiness at this time.

The newspaper indicated that the coaching staff believes the team has not completed its transfers in the transfer market, which makes the focus shift to preparations for the new season instead of participating in the Super Cup.

The newspaper concluded that the youth team has expressed its readiness to participate in the Saudi Super Cup, and the Saudi Football Federation will send an official invitation to the youth team to participate in the tournament.
