Monday 21-07-2025
Manchester City has settled on Portuguese Diogo Costa, goalkeeper of Porto, as the primary option to replace the anticipated departure of Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson during the current summer transfer window.

According to the Portuguese website "Maisfutebol", Ederson is close to joining Galatasaray, prompting Manchester City to act quickly to sign Costa. The report indicated that City is preparing to make an offer of 60 million euros to complete the deal, amid strong competition from Paris Saint-Germain, which is also seeking to acquire the player.

Costa is under contract with Porto until June 2027, and his contract includes a release clause of 75 million euros. Additionally, Manchester City's interest in the goalkeeper has increased following the appointment of Hugo Viana as the sporting director, as he knows the player well from his previous tenure at Sporting Lisbon.

Manchester City hopes to finalize the deal as soon as possible to secure the goalkeeper position before the start of the new season.
