Reports have confirmed that Brazilian midfielder Richard Rios, star of Palmeiras, is nearing a move to Portuguese side Benfica during the current summer transfer window, as part of the club's plan to strengthen its squad in preparation for the new season.

Transfer market journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the deal has already been finalized, with Benfica reaching an agreement with Palmeiras on all terms of the transfer, in addition to the player's consent to embark on the European experience.

Romano explained that Rui Pedro Braz, Benfica's director, traveled to Brazil and completed the agreement, which stipulates the payment of the transfer fee in three installments, with Rios expected to arrive in Lisbon next week for a medical examination and to officially sign the contracts.

It is noteworthy that Rios, who is 25 years old, played 36 matches last season with Palmeiras, scoring 4 goals and providing 4 assists. He also excelled in the FIFA Club World Cup, participating in 5 matches and making 2 key passes.
