Real Madrid Faces Preparation Crisis Ahead of New Season
Sunday 20-07-2025
Real Madrid is currently facing a major crisis regarding the preparation period for the 2025/2026 season, following the exhausting participation of the team in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup held in the United States, which ended with their exit from the semifinals on July 9.

The players of Real Madrid are currently enjoying a break after the end of the season and the Club World Cup competitions, with the team set to return to preparatory training on Monday, August 4, in preparation for the start of La Liga.

According to the Spanish newspaper 'Sport', the scheduled return date for training puts coach Xabi Alonso in a dilemma, as the team will have only 15 days before playing their first match in La Liga against Osasuna, scheduled for August 19 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

The newspaper indicated that Real Madrid's management is insisting on requesting a postponement of the opening match, citing the regulations of the Spanish Football Players' Association, which stipulate that clubs must have a full three weeks to prepare, while La Liga has so far rejected the idea, despite Osasuna's willingness to postpone the match.
