Inzaghi Requests a New Striker for Al-Hilal
Reports have indicated that Italian coach Simone Inzaghi, the head of Al-Hilal Saudi Club, has requested the management to hasten the signing of a new striker during the current summer transfer window, in anticipation of Alexander Mitrovic's departure.
According to the Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah", several names have recently been circulated as potential signings for Al-Hilal, with the most notable being Uruguayan Darwin Nunez, the striker for English club Liverpool.
The newspaper confirmed that the discussions between Inzaghi and the club's management are entirely focused on the striker position, given the urgent need to strengthen this role before the start of the new season.
Al-Hilal has already opened negotiations with Darwin Nunez, based on Inzaghi's recommendation, especially if talks with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, the star of Italian club Napoli, fail.
During the 2024-2025 season in the English Premier League, Nunez played 30 matches, of which only 8 were as a starter, scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists, with an average rating of 6.76 according to official statistics.
