In a new and surprising development regarding Hakan Çalhanoğlu's transfer, Italian reports revealed that Fenerbahçe, led by coach José Mourinho, has entered the race to sign the Inter Milan midfielder during the current summer transfer window, after their rival Galatasaray was considered the frontrunner to acquire him in recent weeks.

According to the website "Football Italy", Fenerbahçe has made an official offer of 20 million euros to sign Çalhanoğlu, while Inter insists on its financial demands estimated at around 30 million euros to part with the player.

Reports confirmed that Fenerbahçe's management is seeking to persuade the Turkish international to join the team, as they offered him the captaincy as part of the deal, in a bid to attract the 31-year-old player.

This move comes after statements from Inter Milan's sporting director, Piero Ausilio, who emphasized that Çalhanoğlu has not requested to leave the club, despite ongoing discussions with Galatasaray in the past period.
