Wissa Wants to Leave Brentford Amid Newcastle Interest
Saturday 19-07-2025
According to reports from English media, the Congolese player Yoane Wissa, Brentford's striker, has shown his desire to leave his club during the current summer transfer window, despite the club's readiness to open talks to renew his contract.

According to the Daily Mail, Wissa, who has only one year left on his contract, does not intend to continue with Brentford, which may prompt the club's management to consider selling him this summer to achieve a financial return instead of letting him leave for free.

The newspaper noted that Newcastle United has turned its interest towards signing Wissa after its attempts to acquire Hugo Ekitike, the striker from Eintracht Frankfurt, stumbled, especially with Liverpool entering the race to sign the French player.

It is worth mentioning that Newcastle is seeking to strengthen its attacking lineup before the new season begins, while Wissa appears to be one of the prominent names on the club's negotiation table.
