The Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reached a final agreement with the management of Marseille on a contract that extends until June 2027, as all details were completed verbally last night.

Aubameyang, who is 35 years old, preferred to return to his former club Marseille, ignoring tempting offers from Saudi league clubs, after being convinced by president Pablo Longoria, former player Mehdi Benatia, and Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi.

Aubameyang will be available to lead Marseille's attack in the new season, with the team's ambition in the UEFA Champions League, as his vast experience and impressive statistics in European competitions are relied upon to enhance the team's offensive strength.

Aubameyang had mutually terminated his contract with Saudi club Al-Qadsiah and will return once again to the ranks of Marseille in a free transfer.
