Friday 18-07-2025
The Saudi Ministry of Sports is working on a comprehensive change in the presidency system of corporate clubs through a new regulatory framework that includes substantial amendments to the nomination mechanisms and terms of office.

According to press reports, the anticipated regulation is moving towards extending the club presidency term to four years, instead of the currently applied system which is limited to just one year.

The regulation also stipulates an annual financial commitment for the club president, amounting to 10 million riyals per year, as part of the responsibilities associated with holding this leadership position.

This step aims to enhance seriousness in club management and ensure stronger financial sustainability, as part of the ministry's efforts to transform clubs into stable entities with administrative and financial independence.

The new regulation is expected to be officially adopted before the upcoming electoral cycle for corporate clubs, scheduled for this summer, with additional details to be revealed soon.
