Ivan Ferguson Rejects Celtic Offer in Favor of Roma Move
Italian media reports have revealed that young Irish striker Ivan Ferguson, a player for Brighton & Hove Albion, has rejected an offer to join Scottish club Celtic, opting instead to join Italian club Roma during the current summer transfer window.
According to 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', Brighton has agreed to loan Ferguson to Roma, but negotiations between the two clubs are still ongoing regarding the terms of the deal and its financial value.
The newspaper clarified that Roma is keen on loaning the 20-year-old player with an option to buy for €25 million, while Brighton insists on including a mandatory purchase clause worth €45 million.
Reports added that both parties may be nearing a compromise, with Roma offering €35 million for the purchase option, which would become mandatory if Ferguson contributes to scoring and assisting 30 goals during the next season.
