Ter Stegen Considering Undergoing Surgery
Thursday 17-07-2025
Catalan newspaper 'Sport' revealed that German Marc-André ter Stegen, Barcelona's goalkeeper, is suffering from severe back pain, and has not trained with the team, limiting himself to working in the gym.

The newspaper indicated that the German goalkeeper is seriously considering undergoing surgery, with a final decision to be made in the coming days. If he undergoes the surgery, his absence could last up to 4 months.

The report also confirmed that Ter Stegen will not travel with Barcelona's squad on their Asian tour for the upcoming season, if he undergoes surgery in the near future.

If Ter Stegen's long absence is confirmed, Barcelona will be able to utilize 80% of his salary to register new players, according to financial fair play regulations.
