Wydad Athletic Club Finalizes Contract with Congolese Joseph Bakasso
Wydad Athletic Club has completed its contract with Congolese midfielder Joseph Bakasso, coming from Maniema Club in Congo, under a contract that extends for three seasons, marking its fourth summer signing and the ninth since the start of the "exceptional transfer period" ahead of its participation in the Club World Cup.
The Wydad management finalized all details of the tripartite agreement on Tuesday evening, which included the Casablanca club, Maniema, and player Bakasso, in preparation for his official joining of the team, in readiness for the upcoming sports season.
Bakasso showed impressive performance during the last edition of the African Champions League, especially in the group stage, where he faced his former team Raja Casablanca, the Royal Army, and Mamelodi Sundowns, drawing attention by scoring the equalizing goal against Raja in the second round with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area.
The player is expected to join Wydad's training sessions in the coming days after completing his transfer procedures and traveling to Morocco.
