Wydad Defines Its Continental Stadium for the Confederation Cup
Wednesday 16-07-2025
Wydad Club of Morocco has officially communicated with the Competitions Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to determine the stadiums that will host its matches during the African Confederation Cup 2025, which kicks off next September.

According to reports, Wydad has chosen the Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca as its main stadium, while the Arab Zaouli Stadium and Al-Abdi Stadium in El Jadida are set as alternative options in case of any unforeseen circumstances.

This step came in response to a letter from CAF that requested participating clubs in continental competitions to specify their stadiums, in preparation for the inspection visits that the technical committee of the continental federation will conduct to ensure that the facilities meet hosting standards.

It is noteworthy that Wydad will benefit from an exemption from playing in the preliminary round due to its advanced ranking in the African club classification, while the second Moroccan representative, Olympic Safi, will have to go through this round due to its first-time participation in Africa.

Wydad is expected to learn about its opponents in the second round during the draw ceremony scheduled to take place on August 28 in Nairobi, Kenya, alongside the African Confederation Cup for local players.
