The Italian club Inter Milan has joined the race to sign Spanish star Marco Asensio, midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain, during the current summer transfer window, as the player is sidelined from the plans of his coach Luis Enrique.

The Spanish newspaper "AS" reported that Inter has entered negotiations to acquire Asensio, but the player's high salary, estimated at €14 million annually, remains the biggest obstacle to completing the deal.

The newspaper noted that Asensio rejected an offer from Turkish club Fenerbahçe, preferring to stay in one of the top five leagues, with interest also from Spanish club Villarreal and Italian club Milan.

Asensio is 29 years old, and his contract with Paris Saint-Germain ends in June 2026, and with his exclusion from Enrique's plans, the idea of renewing his contract with the Parisian team is ruled out.
