Chelsea has officially begun steps to sign Argentine star Alejandro Garnacho, who is close to leaving Manchester United during the current summer transfer window.

According to a report published by "TBR Football", Garnacho's name has returned to Chelsea's radar after the player was sidelined by his coach at United, Ruben Amorim, which has opened the door for his departure from Old Trafford.

The report indicated that Chelsea has recently communicated with those close to Garnacho in preparation for completing the deal, despite having signed Jamie Gittens, and the deal could be worth around £40 million if both parties reach a final agreement.

Garnacho is 21 years old, and his contract with Manchester United expires in June 2028. He has played 144 matches with the team across all competitions, scoring 26 goals and providing 22 assists for his teammates.
