Reports revealed this Sunday evening the possibility of Al-Ahli club participating in the Saudi Super Cup, should Al-Hilal club withdraw from the competition.
Previous reports indicated that Al-Hilal's management submitted an official request to the Saudi Federation to refrain from participating in the Super Cup due to player fatigue following their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.
According to the reports, the tournament regulations allow for Al-Ahli to participate as a substitute for Al-Hilal if the latter submits an official withdrawal from the Super Cup.
It is worth noting that Al-Hilal was eliminated from the FIFA Club World Cup after losing to Brazilian Fluminense with a score of 2-1 in the quarter-finals.
