The French club Olympique Marseille is close to completing the signing of young winger Malick Fofana, a player from Olympique Lyon, during the current summer transfer window.

Journalist specializing in the transfer market, "Santi Aouna," confirmed via his official account on the "X" platform that Marseille has held official talks with Lyon to acquire the services of the 20-year-old player.

Fofana has attracted the attention of several major European clubs like Napoli, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Liverpool, but Marseille seems to be the closest to signing the player at the moment.

Fofana moved to Lyon in January 2024 from Gent in a deal worth around 20 million euros, and his market value has risen to 30 million euros according to the "Transfermarkt" website.

Fofana delivered an impressive performance during the 2024/2025 season with Lyon, scoring 11 goals and assisting 6 goals in 41 matches across all competitions.
