Napoli Withdraws from Darwin Nunez Deal
Saturday 12-07-2025
The Italian club Napoli has decided to withdraw from its negotiations with Liverpool to acquire the Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez during the ongoing summer transfer window, due to the high financial demands from the English club.

According to Sky Sports, Napoli's decision came despite coach Antonio Conte's desire to strengthen the attack by signing Nunez, but the two parties failed to reach a financial agreement.

Nunez, who is 26 years old, joined Liverpool from Benfica in a deal worth 85 million euros, but he did not deliver the expected performance last season, scoring and assisting 7 goals each during 47 matches across all competitions.

On the other hand, Liverpool has recently been linked with the possibility of signing Swedish striker Alexander Isak from Newcastle, but Newcastle does not intend to part with the player unless a tempting financial offer is made.
