Wydad Signs Walid Sabbar for Two Seasons After Breaking the Release Clause of Nahda Zemamra
Saturday 12-07-2025
Wydad Athletic Club has finalized a new deal to strengthen its squad in the summer transfer market by officially signing midfielder Walid Sabbar, who comes from Nahda Zemamra, with a contract that extends until the summer of 2026.

According to reports, the official signing of the contract took place this afternoon at the club's headquarters in the Mohammed Benjelloun complex in Casablanca, in the presence of the player and several team officials.

The deal was completed after Wydad activated the release clause in Sabbar's contract, which is estimated at 130 million Moroccan dirhams, allowing them to acquire the player permanently without needing approval from his former club.

Sabbar is the second signing in the midfield position during the current transfer window, following the signing of Abdul Ghafour Lamirat from Olympic Safi on a three-year contract.

This move is part of Wydad's plan to strengthen its squad in preparation for the new season, which will see the club participate in local and continental competitions, primarily the African Champions League.

The coaching staff, led by Mohamed Amin Benhashim, hopes that these reinforcements will provide a qualitative addition that brings Wydad back to the forefront after a season that did not meet the fans' expectations.
