Raúl Asensio Admits His Disappointment After the Club World Cup
Raúl Asensio, Real Madrid defender, admitted that he did not meet expectations in the 2025 Club World Cup, as he made several mistakes during the tournament, the most notable of which was the error that led to Paris Saint-Germain's first goal in the semifinal, which ended with Real Madrid losing 4-0.
Asensio wrote on his Instagram account: "Madridista, the season in which I achieved my dream of joining the best club in the world is coming to an end, but it ended in a way I did not expect."
He added: "I feel that I did not live up to my expectations in the Club World Cup, which required maximum effort, but now it's time to rest and regain my energy."
He concluded his message by saying: "I wish you a happy holiday, and now and forever, Hala Madrid, I count the days until I return to the Bernabéu."
