Aston Villa is Close to Signing a New Goalkeeper
Reports have revealed that English club Aston Villa is close to signing Italian goalkeeper Marco Bizot, a player from French club Brest, during the current summer transfer window, in preparation for the upcoming 2025/2026 season.
According to Sky Sports, Bizot is expected to take the position of the second goalkeeper in the team following the departure of Robin Olsen on a free transfer last month.
The Italian goalkeeper has only one year left on his contract with Brest and played 41 matches last season, keeping a clean sheet 12 times.
Argentine Emiliano Martinez continues to maintain his position as the first-choice goalkeeper for Aston Villa, with a contract extended until the summer of 2027, although many previous reports have suggested that Aston Villa is open to selling Martinez.
