
Bayer Leverkusen Announces Signing of Christian Covani
The German club Bayer Leverkusen announced on its official website the signing of young Cameroonian striker Christian Covani, coming from Albacete in Spain, with a contract that extends until June 2029.
Covani, who is 18 years old, is considered one of the standout discoveries of the Spanish second division last season, having played 20 matches with Albacete's first team after being promoted from the youth team, during which he scored 8 goals and assisted one.
Simon Rolfes, the sporting director of Leverkusen, praised the deal, saying: "Christian is a strong and fast striker, with technical skills and great ability to impose himself, and he will contribute to adding more diversity to our playing style, and he has great potential to become an important part of the team in the coming years."
