Wydad Approaches to Sign Al-Sabbar in a Swap Deal with Nahda Zemamra
The Moroccan Wydad Athletic Club has entered advanced negotiations with Nahda Zemamra to contract midfielder Walid Al-Sabbar, as part of the red team's plan to strengthen its squad with experienced players in preparation for upcoming local and continental competitions.
According to sources, the deal will be finalized between the two parties as part of a swap deal in which several Wydad players will move to Zemamra on loan, while Al-Sabbar will officially join coach Mohamed Amin Benhashim's squad.
Walid Al-Sabbar is considered one of the standout players of Zemamra during the past season, where he delivered impressive performances that caught the attention of several clubs, notably Raja and Wydad. However, the latter managed to finalize the agreement in its favor due to the player's desire to take on a new challenge.
In a related context, press reports revealed that Wydad's management is preparing to activate the purchase clause for Burkinabe player Aziz Ki's contract in the coming hours, despite his name being on the list of outgoing players.
This shift came after a recommendation from coach Benhashim, who decided to give him another chance, especially after the player agreed to reduce his salary and revise his financial terms.
Wydad previously announced four signings so far in the summer transfer market, having signed Guilherme Ferreira, Bart Meyers, Abdel Ghafour Lamirates, and Hamza Al-Wasti.
The red club is expected to announce new signings in the coming days as part of a project to build a competitive team capable of reclaiming local titles and going far in continental competitions.
