Liverpool FC continues to monitor the situation of Newcastle United winger, Anthony Gordon, in preparation for an attempt to sign him during the current summer transfer window, according to reports from "Football Insider".

The network clarified that Liverpool is awaiting developments regarding Gordon's position with Newcastle, especially as the latter is close to signing Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest, in addition to their interest in Jack Grealish from Manchester City.

If these two signings are completed, Gordon may become more likely to leave due to the congestion in his attacking position with the presence of Harvey Barnes and Jacob Murphy as well.

Sources mentioned that Gordon is open to a move to Liverpool, despite signing a new long-term contract with Newcastle until 2030 last October; on the other hand, Newcastle is holding onto their player and values him at around £100 million.

Liverpool had shown interest in Gordon last summer without making a formal offer, while they have already strengthened their squad this summer by signing Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth €100 million, plus €16 million in incentives.
