Officially.. Wydad Athletic Club signs Hamza Al-Wasiti for two seasons on a free transfer
The Moroccan Wydad Athletic Club announced today its official signing of player Hamza Al-Wasiti in a free transfer deal, following the expiration of his contract with Ittihad Tangier, under a contract that extends for two seasons, allowing him to return to his original club.
This signing comes as part of Wydad's management efforts to strengthen the team’s ranks ahead of the new football season, both locally and continentally, as the "Red Team" aims to return to the podiums after a difficult season.
Wydad had reached a preliminary agreement with Al-Wasiti before the start of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, hoping to take him to the United States; however, Ittihad Tangier refused to allow the player to leave before the end of his contract.
Wydad confirmed through its official accounts that the signing with Al-Wasiti came after successful negotiations, expressing hope that the player will be a strong addition to the team in the upcoming phase.
Hamza Al-Wasiti is a graduate of the Wydad Athletic Academy, having progressed through its various age categories, before embarking on two professional experiences with Chabab Mohammedia and Ittihad Tangier, leaving the latter after the end of last season when his contract expired.
Wydad concluded its statement by wishing the player success in his new journey, indicating confidence that Al-Wasiti will contribute to supporting the team’s project and providing the necessary addition on the pitch.
