Global media reports have revealed that German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has clarified his stance on leaving Barcelona ahead of the new 2025/2026 season, amidst speculation regarding his future following the Catalan club's signing of goalkeeper Juan Garcia from Espanyol.

The Spanish newspaper "Sport" indicated that the 33-year-old Ter Stegen will not leave Barcelona before the upcoming winter transfer window, regardless of the decisions made by German coach Hans Flick or the club's management in the coming days, confirming that the goalkeeper trusts his ability to maintain his starting position in the team.

The newspaper explained that Ter Stegen returned to Barcelona unexpectedly before the scheduled date, after his vacation in Greece and Mallorca, and underwent medical examinations in preparation for the new season, insisting on staying despite feeling disappointed by the lack of transparency regarding the signing of a new goalkeeper and media leaks about his behavior in the locker room, which he believes do not reflect the truth.

The newspaper concluded that Barcelona's management might propose the option of a free transfer or loan to the goalkeeper to alleviate salary pressure, but he refuses to relinquish his full financial entitlements and insists on his contract, which runs until the summer of 2028.
