Media figure Khaled Al-Ghandour stated that a close source to Imam Ashour, the star of Al-Ahly, confirmed that the player has become open to extending his contract with the club in the upcoming period.

Al-Ghandour continued on his program "Stadium Al-Mahwar": "The source confirmed that the player is waiting for his vacation to end in order to hold a meeting with Mohamed Youssef, the club's sporting director, to agree on all the terms related to extending the contract and signing the new contracts."

He added: "The source emphasized that Imam Ashour has been informed that his contract will be amended and promoted to the first category of salaries in appreciation of his great efforts during the past period with the team, and this has pleased the player, making him open to extending his contract due to the appreciation he felt from the club and its officials."

Imam Ashour led Al-Ahly last season to win the Premier League title.
