Inter Milan is working to strengthen its attacking midfield by negotiating to sign Marco Asensio, the Spanish midfielder who recently returned to Paris Saint-Germain after a loan spell at Aston Villa.

Asensio is not part of the French club's plans for the new season, opening the door for a potential transfer to Serie A.

Asensio's transfer value is estimated between 10 to 12 million euros, given that his contract with Paris Saint-Germain extends until the summer of 2026, but the biggest challenge is his high annual salary of 8 million euros, which may require him to agree to a reduction to fit Inter's budget.

Inter Milan had previously attempted to sign the player in 2023 and last January, but the deals fell through due to financial discrepancies.

Negotiations are ongoing with Asensio's agent, Jorge Mendes, who is tasked with finding the best options for the player amidst interest from other clubs in Europe, but Inter remains a strong contender in the deal.
