Officially.. Wydad Announces Contracting with Abdelghafour Lamirates for 3 Seasons
The Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco announced today its official contract with the player Abdelghafour Lamirates, coming from Olympique Safi, with a contract that extends for three seasons, as part of the ongoing summer transfer market deals, within the club's plan to rebuild the team after a disappointing season.
The inclusion of Lamirates is a new step in the Wydad management's efforts to strengthen the team's ranks after a zero-season for the third consecutive time, as the red club failed to achieve a respectable participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.
An official statement on the club's pages stated: "We announce to our loyal fans that the player Abdelghafour Lamirates has signed a contract with Wydad Athletic Club for three years, to strengthen the team starting from the current season. Welcome to Abdelghafour in the fortress of Wydad, and we wish him all the success and brilliance in the red club's jersey. Wearing the Wydad jersey is an honor, and performing well is a duty."
Coach Mohamed Amin Benhashim held a meeting with the club president Hicham Ait Mana, during which he requested to finalize no less than 10 new signings, in addition to getting rid of several names that did not provide any contribution.
Wydad continues its preparations for the new season, as it seeks to compete in local and continental championships, and the team is expected to participate in the Moroccan league and the Throne Cup, in addition to the African Confederation Cup after finishing last season in third place.
