The Moroccan Raja Club officially announced the election of Jawad Al-Ziyat as the new president of the club during the general assembly held on Monday evening, succeeding the outgoing president Abdullah Birouain. This move is hoped by Raja fans to bring the team back to the podiums of victory and achieve administrative and financial stability.

The elections witnessed a three-way competition in the first round between Al-Ziyat, Birouain, and Said Hsabane, where Al-Ziyat received 67 votes, ahead of Birouain (40 votes) and Hsabane (34 votes).

In the decisive second round, Al-Ziyat dominated the race with 91 votes compared to 43 votes for his competitor Birouain, officially being crowned as the new president of the "Green Eagles".

The new board faces significant challenges, most notably strengthening the team with quality signings, structuring the youth categories, and developing the infrastructure, as part of a project to restore Raja to its continental standing as one of the giants of the African continent.

Raja fans have called for change and hope that Al-Ziyat's election marks the beginning of a new phase that restores the club's prestige, which has been absent from the podiums of victory in recent seasons.
