Behind the Collapse of Osimhen's Transfer to Al-Hilal
Tuesday 08-07-2025
The Italian newspaper 'Corriere dello Sport' has revealed a major surprise, uncovering the behind-the-scenes details of the failed transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to Saudi club Al-Hilal.

According to the report, Al-Hilal began negotiations with Napoli before the start of the FIFA Club World Cup, seeking to reduce the buyout clause of 75 million euros, but the Italian team insisted on receiving the full amount.

Despite Napoli's insistence, Al-Hilal ultimately agreed to pay the full amount, and both parties reached advanced stages that included the exchange of documents related to the official transfer process.

However, the deal collapsed unexpectedly in its final moments, after Osimhen announced his complete refusal to transfer, despite the massive offer he received from the club.

The Al-Hilal offer included an annual salary estimated at 40 million euros for three years, with an option to renew for an additional year, but the player's desire ultimately determined the outcome.
