Real Madrid Requests Postponement of Its La Liga Opening Match
Monday 07-07-2025
Real Madrid has requested the Spanish league association to postpone its opening match in La Liga against Osasuna, which is scheduled to take place on August 19.

The Spanish network "Cope" reported that the reason for this request is due to the lack of sufficient time for rest and preparation of the players, as a result of the team's participation in the Club World Cup, held this summer in the United States.

The source added that Real Madrid has reached a preliminary agreement with Osasuna and the Spanish Football Federation to hold the match on October 29, and is now awaiting the approval of the league association.

Javier Tebas, the president of the Spanish league association, criticized Real Madrid's desire to postpone its opening match in La Liga.

It is worth mentioning that Real Madrid is in the semifinals of the Club World Cup, where they will face Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, noting that the final match will be held on July 13.
