Tariq Yahya, the former Zamalek star, stated that the club's management should freeze Hossam Abdel-Meguid, the team's player, in case he does not renew his contract.

Tariq Yahya said in radio statements via "On Sport": "If Hossam Abdel-Meguid does not renew with Zamalek, he should be frozen because afterwards he will go to either Delphi or Midtjylland.. So if he wants to go to Al Ahly, he should say so now."

When asked about the similarity of his situation with Akram Tawfik when he was negotiating with Al Ahly before leaving, he replied: "No, Akram was clear and said he was going to Qatar, and Al Ahly did not freeze him due to differing views between the boards of directors."

He continued: "Akram's situation is different from Hossam Abdel-Meguid's, and the age is different, and there are cases where I might freeze him and cases where I might continue with him."

He added: "I have a great squad if Hossam Abdel-Meguid is frozen, as I have El-Wensh and I had El-Maslouty who could play as a center-back, and Salah El-Din Mosadak, and Zamalek will not fall if Hossam Abdel-Meguid is frozen."
