FIFA has announced the appointment of Brazilian referee Ramon Abatti to officiate the match between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, scheduled to take place on Saturday as part of the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup at MetLife Stadium in New York.

Ramon Abatti, 35 years old and from Santa Catalina, joined the Brazilian Football Confederation in 2020 and received his FIFA international badge in 2021. He has previous experience with Real Madrid, having officiated the team's match against Pachuca in the group stage, where he made decisive calls, including a direct red card for Raul Asensio in the seventh minute.

Abatti is known for his conversational style with players, with a notable expression on his face, especially the movements of his eyes that caught the attention of fans during a match between America Mineiro and Atletico Mineiro in 2022, where he sent a visual warning to player Everaldo.

He also officiated the football final at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where Spain defeated France 5-3, highlighting his experience in major matches.
