Barcelona Awaits the Right Moment to Secure Dumfries Deal
Friday 04-07-2025
Barcelona has expressed interest in signing Dutch right-back Denzel Dumfries, a player for Inter Milan, during the summer transfer window. However, the club's financial situation has prevented any immediate action to complete the deal, as reported by 'Mundo Deportivo'.

Dumfries, who is 29 years old, is highly regarded at Barcelona, as the club sees him as a significant and unique player capable of strengthening the right flank, especially after his impressive performance against the Catalan team in the semi-finals of the Champions League last season, where he scored two goals and provided three assists.

The buyout clause in his contract with Inter Milan is around 25 million euros, according to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Nevertheless, the report clarified that Barcelona currently prioritizes registering the new goalkeeper Juan Garcia and signing a left winger, in addition to working on balancing the financial situation in accordance with Financial Fair Play regulations before considering strengthening other positions.

The newspaper confirmed that Dumfries remains an ideal option for the right-back position if economic conditions improve, especially since the club does not plan to strengthen this position unless with a standout and impactful player, which applies to the Dutch star.
