Mamdouh Abdel Razek "Shikabala", the captain of Zamalek Club and one of the most prominent legends of Egyptian football, announced on Thursday evening his final retirement from playing, after a career full of achievements.
Shikabala's announcement of his retirement from football came during his appearance on the program "Football with Faiq" on MBC Masr 2 channel, with journalist Ibrahim Faiq.
The moment of the announcement saw Shikabala deeply affected, as he broke down in tears while talking about the end of his career, which spanned over two decades in the fields, during which he led Zamalek to achieve many championships, and was a symbol of loyalty and belonging to the club.
Shikabala spent most of his professional career at Zamalek, but he also had some professional experiences, most notably with PAOK Salonika, Al Wasl, Sporting Lisbon, and Al Raed.
